Maintaining a healthy work/life balance is essentially up to each employee. ILAG is happy to assist its people in doing so, however, through its company healthcare activities. Flexible workhours, part-time options and (now) health drives, too, are all helping to keep the ILAG workforce in good physical and mental shape.

In the second quarter the programme’s emphasis has shifted to good and regular exercise. The opportunity to play squash, tennis or badminton at the local sports centre has been taken up by numerous employees. And for those less keen on ball sports, the “Bike Week” in June offered an excellent alternative. The aim here was to get as many staff as possible to leave their car at home for a week and cycle to work instead.

Anyone who wants to be and stay healthy needs to make a good diet, exercise, fresh air and relaxation firm fixtures in their daily routine. And that’s what Fit 2014@ILAG is intended to do, through various actions and activities that are not only healthy but are good fun, too.

Quarterly emphases

Frequent travel, constant time pressures and long working days are all bringing more and more hectic to the working world and making it all the more vital that a company’s employees remain healthy, fit, motivated and content. And it’s with these aims in mind that ILAG has launched “Fit2014@ILAG”, a programme of actions to help its employees balance their work with their private life and pay greater regard to their health.

Nutrition was the prime focus for Fit2014@ILAG in the first quarter of 2014. And it was a “Fruit Week” that got the programme under way. All the break rooms and coffee corners were provided with baskets containing a wide range of fruits, all for free consumption. When the temperatures started to rise in March, so did the need for liquid sustenance. So a “Water Week” came next, with free mineral water – still or sparkling – for the whole ILAG workforce.

Further health-related actions are planned at ILAG between now and year-end. We’ll keep you posted…
